Evidence-based tools that have proven results in brain injuries, movement disorders, balance, stroke and more!

Interactive Metronome

Our goal is to use Interactive Metronome to enhance neural timing and connectivity in the brain, which is believed to have positive effects on attention, coordination, language skills, and other cognitive functions.

What is Interactive Metronome?

Interactive Metronome (IM) is an evidence-based training and assessment tool.IM is proven to improve cognition, attention, focus, memory, speech/language, executive functioning, comprehension, as well as motor and sensory skills.

Interactive Metronome involves engaging in specific exercises that require an individual to synchronize their movements to a metronome beat or auditory cue. This type of therapy allows individuals to harmonize a variety of full-body movements with an exact computer-generated rhythm.

The process includes real-time visual and auditory cues, facilitating the refinement of timing, rhythm, and synchronization within the brain.

Interactive Metronome is designed to enhance timing abilities through targeted exercises and dedicated practice.

Improved timing skills have a positive impact on various aspects such as concentration, motor coordination, planning, and the speed of information processing.

What Ages Can Use Interactive Metronome?

Interactive Metronome therapy is designed to be suitable for both children and adults. However it is particularly relevant for anyone who may be experiencing challenges related to timing, coordination, attention, and cognitive function.

Here are some groups of people who can benefit from Interactive Metronome therapy:

  • Children with developmental disorders such as ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities, and coordination difficulties.

  • Adults who have suffered from neurological injuries such as strokes, traumatic brain injuries, or other cognitive impairments.

  • Seniors who may be experiencing age-related cognitive decline or conditions like Parkinson’s disease.

  • Athletes seeking to improve their sports performance through enhanced timing, coordination, and focus might also find Interactive Metronome therapy useful.

  • Speech and Language Disorders can benefit from the therapy, as rhythmic exercises may aid in speech and language development.
